Amaël Mavoungou
PERFORMER
—
Amaël Mavoungou is a contemporary dancer and choreographer from Gabon who studied at the Centre National de Danse Contemporaine in Angers and holds a Master's degree in Arts.
He dances alone. Yet on stage, the shadows that follow him are not just made up of lighting effects. His choreographic approach combines sacred and contemporary animist universes. He uses dance to connect not only with the invisible, but also with the memory of his own body, with the souls of his own history, to dance his daily life.
As a performer, he has worked with Dorothée Munyaneza and Emmanuelle Huyhn.
