Jean Patient Akayezu, aka Nkuba

PERFORMEUR | MUSICIEN

Nkuba is a Rwandan musician and composer based in Kigali

Lulled throughout his childhood by his mother's inanga, a traditional zither found in the Great Lakes region, he trained in traditional Rwandan music at the Rwanda School of Creative Art and Music (RSAM).

Nkuba means "thunderbolt" in Kinyarwanda, as his music resonates, rumbles and touches us with its poetry and heritage.

umuko is his first collaboration with Dorothée Munyaneza.
